At the Special Awards Ceremony, about 50 associations, universities, corporations, and government entities award more than $4 million in prizes and scholarships in their areas of interest. These organizations are required to provide their own judges in order to determine each group’s winners. More than 330 Special Awards judges are on hand for two days of project evaluation and judging interviews. In addition to having a dedicated hall in which to do their work, they are provided with six meals, parking, and a gift of appreciation.

Each year, ISEF provides experiential awards to introduce students to settings in which they can explore their scientific interests while also experiencing a cultural exchange. The following awards are available for sponsorship: The Dudley R. Herschbach SIYSS Award An all-expense-paid trip for three finalists to attend Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar, which includes attendance at the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Stockholm, Sweden. This award is named for Dudley R. Herschbach, 1986 Nobel Laureate in chemistry. He is Emeritus Board Chair of Society for Science & the Public. European Union Contest for Young Scientists An all-expense-paid trip for selected finalists to attend the European Union Contest for Young Scientists, located in a new city each year.

TO PARTICIPATE • Contribute a minimum of $25,000 for each award, which will go to three winners. • Provide a representative to present the awards at the Grand Awards Ceremony.
