Industrial velocity and temperature monitoring

Homogenous mixing with handheld power mixers

Instrotech, distributor and manufacturer of a range of process control instrumen- tation and specialised systems, has announced the launch of UK-based Monitran’s MTN/2285STC – a combined velocity and temperature sensor with four 20 mA range outputs for industrial monitoring applications. With a dual- output, this sensor is ideal for monitoring vibration and temperature levels in the same location, for the protection of mo- tors, fans, pumps, compressors and other assemblies with rotating parts. Both of the sensor’s outputs are in the industry-standard range of 4.0-20 mA and are suitable for direct connection to a programmable logic controller (PLC), distributed control system (DCS) or other industrial controller. Andy Anthony, managing director of Monitran, comments: “Changes in vibra- tion or temperature levels tend to provide the earliest indication that a component of plant equipment is in need of main-

The use of spades or similar tools to perform mixing operations often results

in a non-homogenous mix of questionable quality. Mayday Equip- ment identified the need to address this issue, especially when screeds and epoxies are involved, and has introduced a range of handheld power mixers to the market. Recognising that no two mixing jobs are identical, the Collomix range of handheld power mixers is available in a number of variants. Mayday Equipment will be marketing the Xo 1, Xo 6 and Xo 55 Duo models, with a variety of stirrer accessories for various ap- plications. The models have power ratings of 1 010 W, 1 600 W and 1 450 W, respectively, with mixing volumes of 40, 90 and 90 ℓ .

With our new dual-output sensor, engineers can connect directly to any equipment that accepts inputs in the 4-20 mA range to monitor both parameters for mainte- nance, control or emergency-shutdown purposes.” www.instrotech.co.za the mechanic with greater control in all applications. All models have been designed for ease of operation. An increase in the height of each handheld power mixer means that operators can stand upright when mixing is being performed. This, together with the ergonomically shaped shell-type handle, eliminates back pain and results in decreased fatigue levels. performance our users have come to expect from our brand nowadays,” says Luis Clement, Chicago Pneumatic Tools vice-president. www.cp.com

Chicago Pneumatic has launched a new series of CP7736 ½̋ metal impact wrenches, to deliver more durability, power and user comfort for tyre chang- ing or general mechanical applications. The compact CP7736 offers 900 Nm of torque, which is 20% more than its predecessor, and has the best price per- formance ratio of its class on the market. As such, vehicle service professionals can operate more efficiently and increase their productivity. There are two tools available in the range – the CP7736 ½̋ impact wrench and the CP7736-2, which includes a 2̋ long anvil attachment. The impact wrench is highly durable, with a new twin hammer mechanism providing a working torque of 51-568 69-770 Nm and a maximum torque of 670 900 Nm. It features three power settings in forward and full power in reverse, which provides Chicago Pneumatic has launched a new series of CP7736 metal impact wrenches.

Goscor Hi-Reach is extending the Genie boom lift family with the introduction of the Genie SX-150, a compact workhorse that features excellent stability and a working height of 48 m. “This remarkable new machine which follows on from its big brother, the 57 m SX-180, is a welcome addition to the family as it conveniently addresses a working height gap between the current 40 m and 57 m telescopic boom offer- ing,” says Goscor Hi-Reach managing director, George Landsberg. Fifteen years of experience in large boom development is built into the ‘DNA’ of the Genie SX-150. Proven quality and performance combined with practical, in- novative design features deliver reliability, efficiency and ease of operation and ser- vice across the Genie equipment range. Highlighting the machine’s out- standing stability, Landsberg says the New Genie offers stability at 48 m working heights SX‑150 is built on Genie’s pioneering and proven XChassis™ design. “Add to this a horizontal outreach of up to 24.38 m, as well as an industry-leading capacity through its full working envelope, and the result is a boom lift that delivers unequalled versatility and productivity. For our customers and end-user these features importantly signify profitability and a rapid return on investment.” “Low operational costs, fast set up, ease-of-use and service are inherent to the SX-150 which ticks all the pro- ductivity and profitability boxes; factors that are crucial for sustainable operation and even more so in a tough econom- ic climate,” concludes Landsberg. www.goscor.co.za
