Turophiles unite: Wine and cheese welcome night in Melbourne

Victoria

On a pleasant autumn night in Melbourne, The SPA VIC Branch held its (somewhat annual) wine and cheese night to welcome new and existing members to the association. The event was held at "Milk the Cow", a licensed fromagerie in the heart of Carlton’s Lygon Street dining precinct. We were treated to a "flight" of matched cheese and wine, carefully selected by our expert cheesemonger. In addition to the delicious range of food and drink on offer, attendees also had the opportunity to network with other speech pathologists in similar and varying fields of practice. For our

student members, the chance to get an insight into their future profession and hear some helpful advice from recent graduates was very well received. Overall, the night was a terrific opportunity for new and existing members to share their experiences and thoughts on all things "speech pathology". There was also a clear favourite among the turophiles (a new word to add to your vocabulary perhaps!): a raspberry-washed cheese with a texture somewhere between cheddar and parmesan. Delicious!
