New Niehoff plant at Schwabach

Maschinenfabrik Niehoff GmbH & Co KG is building a completely new plant at the company’s headquarters in Schwabach near Nuremberg, Germany. The mid-September groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of the development. The company’s departments will be relocated in three stages. The first phase of construction will include the new locations for assembly, test stand, trials, shipping, paint shop and apprentices workshop. The first construction stage, which has been started, comprises a production area of 17,000m 2 and production-related offices of 1,500m 2 . The company is investing €25 million, not including the property purchase, in this first construction phase. Dependent upon future business conditions, the company is planning a second phase of construction consisting of a further 8,000m 2 production area. The forthcoming headquarters relocation in Schwabach is a further contribution to the company’s capacity expansion. New Istanbul office Sikora AG opened a new sales office in Istanbul on 1 st January 2009, its ninth sales location, in reaction to the increasing demand for Sikora measuring systems. The Istanbul office will place Sikora in a position to react faster to customer requests and to further expand its business in Turkey. Sikora has been working with the International Trade Consultancy (ITC) since July 1997 and follows the extremely positive business development in the Turkish market with the setting up of its own office. “We are proud to announce the forthcoming opening of an additional office in Turkey,” commented Harry Prunk, chairman of Sikora AG. “What is crucial is the closeness to customers and the further expansion of our sales activities in and around Istanbul.
