GROUP FITNESS CLASSES The Community Center offers a variety of fitness classes for ages 12 and up (12- and 13-year-olds may participate when accompanied by a parent/guardian). Classes are taught by certified instructors in a comfortable setting with safety and fun in mind. Just scan your membership card or pay the daily fee when checking in at the front desk. Consult with your physician prior to beginning any new exercise program. Visit www.ShakopeeMN.gov or stop by the Community Center to pick up a current schedule.

EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE Research shows that regular physical exercise helps people with Parkinson’s Disease reduce stiffness; regain mobility; improve gait, posture and balance; strengthen muscles; and manage other symptoms. Cardiovascular movement, resistance training, cognitive exercises and social experiences will give participants the confidence to continue a full and active life. This six-week class is designed for people with Parkinson’s, though anyone with a movement disorder is welcome. Support persons may attend at no cost. Community Center Studio 1, 1255 Fuller St. S. This workshop is a crash course in various nutrition topics, such as healthy eating, meal preparation, heart healthy tips and tricks, food label reading and more.
