OBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR NEW OMB MEMBERS
Dear Dr Roman ,
I am Amélia Delgado (PhD), researcher at MeditBio - Centre for Mediterranean Bioresources and Food, University of Algarve, Portugal.
I have been informed that Prof Salvatore Parisi – currently visiting professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU), Jordan - has been nominated for the AOAC Official Methods Board (OMB). I believe Professor Parisi’s is the right choice for the job, given its background, extensive experience, skills, and personal qualities. So I will highly recommend him for the Official Methods Board of AOAC. I have the pleasure to work with Professor Parisi for some years, mainly as an editor to my publications and as co-author in several works including two books related to food chemistry and food safety, closely related to analytical methodologies. As you may verify, Prof Parisi cooperated with University of Messina while simultaneous working in the industry (developing packaging materials; cheese and cheese-like products) as well as consultancies on food chemistry-related topics. In this double role, Prof Parisi developed software programs for which he has two patent-pending. He has also acting as Series Editor for the SpringerBrief Book series in Chemistry of Foods ( https://www.springer.com/series/11853 ) for which I have been an author. Prof. Parisi is also Special Guest Editor for the Journal of AOAC International (2018-2019) for which I have also authored papers in these special sections. His active involvement in AOAC working groups and Expert Review Panels, in addition to the organization of Special Issues of the Journal of AOAC International, demonstrates his commitment to AOAC.
