AOAC SPIFAN Whey Protein Casein Ratio • Chinese regulations was to be modified impacting Whey Protein Casein Ratio determination • Chinese government officials participated in process • Timeline – 5/2012 – Working group formed to initiate developing SMPR for Whey Protein Casein Ratio methods – 6/2012 – SMPR approved – 9/2012 – ERP for SPIFAN Whey Protein Casein Ratio Methods adopted two methods as First Action OMA • ERP requested the methods be combined – 9/2013 – ERP met to review progress, but no further work was undertaken at the time – 9/2013 and ongoing – SPIFAN has been receiving updates on the Chinese government development & review of potential GB method – 9/2016 – New method submitted and ERP will be meeting to review method for First Action consideration and consider any progress to current First Action methods.
