ERECTION SEQUENCE

STEP 1

DOUBLE FACED TAPE (BY INSULATION SUPPLIER)

RAKE SUPPORT Attach the rake support on top of the rake angle with the proper self-drilling fasteners on 2'-0" centers with a fastener in the first and last pre-punched slot. The vertical leg is to be installed flush with the steel line. Center fasteners in slots. FASTENER REQUIREMENTS Purlins: 1/4"-14 x 1-1/4” Shoulder fastener. Bar Joist: 1/4"-14 x 1-1/4” Shoulder fastener. (Pre-drill bar joist as required) IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE RAKE SUPPORT IS INSTALLED STRAIGHT AND SQUARE WITH THE EAVE AS IT CONTROLS THE ALIGNMENT OF THE ROOF SYSTEM.

1/4"-14 X 1 1/4" SHOULDER (2'-0" C.C.)

Install 6" long pieces of double faced tape (by insulation supplier) on 3'-0" centers to the top of the horizontal leg of the rake support. This will help hold the insulation in place at the rake.

#12-14 X 1" PANCAKE HEAD (2 PER PURLIN) 1/4"-14 X 1 1/4" SHOULDER (2'-0" C.C.)

CAUTION ALL PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FRAMING SHOULD BE ERECTED, PLUMBED, AND BOLTS TIGHTENED PRIOR TO PANELING. CAUTION It is important that shoulder fasteners are installed through the CENTER of the slotted holes of the rake support to allow for expansion and contraction.
