Change in Point of Contact for Ohio Ethics Commission In the past, the treasurer/CFO of each school district was the official point of contact for the Ohio Ethics Commission (OEC). That is no longer the procedure that the OEC will follow. The superintendent is now the official contact person. In the future, notices of filing deadlines, forms, and any other necessary communications will be sent directly to the superintendent, who should then share them with those required to file a Financial Disclosure Statement (FDS) with the OEC. In addition, first year superintendents are reminded to file the FDS within the first ninety days of the first day of employment. Certification of Standards on Types of Food Sold at School Ohio law requires each school district board of education to adopt and enforce nutrition standards governing the types of food and beverages available for purchase on school premises. Please remember that schools are required to report compliance annually to the Ohio Department of Education and submit the report by Friday, Sept. 30. Lead Plumbing Fixture Replacement Grants Available The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission has announced the opening of the application period for the Lead Plumbing Fixture Replacement Assistance Grant program and began notifying administrators at school buildings across the state that they may be eligible for assistance with the replacement of lead plumbing fixtures. The program provides funding to eligible schools to reimburse for the sampling, assessment, and re-placement of drinking fountains, water coolers, plumbing fixtures, and limited connected piping. Schools built before 1990 can apply for reimbursement up to $15,000 for sampling and assessment of eligible fixtures and the material costs to replace fixtures identified as being over the federal action level for lead in drinking water.

If you have not received direct notification about this program, contact grants.info@ofcc.ohio.gov for additional information.
