5 Folk Mass Workshops Scheduled -1f, "I /6 )0 A series of five weekly folk Mass li turgica l workshops will be held from 9 a. m. to noon every Saturday beginning April 18 at the Newman Center, San Diego Sa te College. In announcing the workshops, the center eKplained tha t the program is in response to the pressi nJ.( need for more p rofess ionalis m in th e pre- se ntation of contemporary folk worship. Planners of the eries include Father Michael ~Jsar3z, rector of St. F ranc1s emma ry, a nd secre ta ry of thr, Diocesan Liturgical Commission, and Father Phillip Straling, Newman ch j!plam, assisted by semina rians , college students and folk musicians. Father Alcaraz will launch the series with a talk on "The Concept of Liturgy," followed by a panel discussion. Other peakers a nd topics will be featured on subsequent workshops.
