 Maps related to the locations or distance between location(s) where alleged events occurred; and  Blue prints or drawings of the physical location where alleged events occurred.  Interviews.  The purpose of interviewing the complainant, alleged wrongdoer and witnesses is to gather basic and relevant facts to determine what occurred. The investigator should focus on the facts to find out:  What happened?  Who was involved?  Who were the witnesses?  How did it happen?  When did it happen?  Where did it happen?  Why did it happen?  In order to assist in making the above determinations, develop a chart containing:  The alleged elements of wrongdoing which if true would qualify as a violation of a code of conduct, policy, or other misconduct;  What facts must be determined to establish each element of alleged wrongdoing;  What areas and facts should be probed to look into evidence that would show the alleged conduct did not occur; and  Possible witnesses concerning each alleged element of wrongdoing, including but not limited to:  The complainant;  The alleged wrongdoer;  Other witnesses; and  Individuals to whom the complainant might have talked to about the alleged wrongdoing or that the alleged wrongdoer may have talked to about other relevant information.  Before interviews, the investigator should decide:  Who should be interviewed;  The order in which the interviews should be conducted;   What information needs to be obtained; and Questions to ask.
