The nature of the job held or sought.

 When deciding whether to disqualify an applicant for other types of misconduct or adverse information discovered during the screening process, consider:  Relationship between the prior misconduct and the services the applicant will provide;  Applicant’s employment or volunteer history before and after the misconduct;  Applicant’s efforts and success at rehabilitation;  Circumstances or factors indicating whether the misconduct is likely to be repeated;  Nature, severity, number and consequences of incidents of misconduct;  Circumstances surrounding each incident, including contributing societal or environmental conditions; and  Amount of time elapsed since the incident.  Consult with professionals, such as legal counsel or a human resources expert, before making a decision to disqualify.
