Minimum Wage  Minimum wage is $12.00 effective January 1, 2019 and $13.00 effective January 1, 2020 for schools with 26 or more employees.  Minimum wage is $11.00 effective January 1, 2019 and $12.00 effective January 1, 2020 for schools with 25 or fewer employees.  Minimum wage must comply with any applicable city or county ordinance(s). Overtime Pay  If the employee works over 8 hours in a work day, the additional work is paid at a rate of one and one-half times the regular rate of pay.  If the employee works over 12 hours in a work day, the additional work is paid at a rate of twice the regular rate of pay.  If the employee works over 40 hours in a workweek, the additional work is paid at a rate of one and one-half times the regular rate of pay.  If the employee works all seven consecutive days in a single designated workweek, hours worked up to eight on the seventh consecutive day are paid at a rate of one and one-half times the regular rate of pay and hours worked in excess of eight are paid at the rate of twice the regular rate of pay.

Frequency of Non-Exempt Employee Pay Periods  Must be paid at least twice each month.  Timing of payment. 

Wages earned between the 1 st and 15 th of the month must be paid between the 16 th and the last day of that same month.  Wages earned between 16 th and last day of the month must be paid between the 1 st and 10 th of the following month.  For all other pay periods, wages must be paid within 7 calendar days of the end of the pay period.
