PEOPLE At the end of term, we say goodbye and good luck to Rev Charlie Kerr who leaves to become Chaplaincy Advisor for the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education; to Peter Rudge, to become Head of History and Politics at Cokethorpe; to Tova Dalgleish, to teach Art at Headington; to Kenny Dalgleish, to pursue other interests; to Ariadna Tsenina, to teach Politics at Cokethorpe; to Annie Blair, to return to her native Northern Ireland; to Ashley Somogyi, to become Director of Academic Affairs at Education First; to Sam Lapage, to lead the U16 rowing squad at St Paul’s; and to Dorothy Sinden who retires after 21 years in various administrative roles at the School. Alastair Summers will leave in October to become Vice President, Academic, at St Clare’s in Oxford. In September, we welcome Charles Davies from Eastbourne College as HM of Jubilee and to teach English; Rev Ernest Lennon from The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School as Chaplain; Ann-Laure Davies to teach French and Spanish; Tom Wyatt from Oxford University to teach Theology, Philosophy and Ethics; Dr Jem Pearson, who has been tutoring, to teach Physics; James Sinclair from Loreto College, St

Race to the Stones Enormous congratulations to Simon Roche, Segar’s HM, and Gavin Turner, outgoing Head of Geography, who completed the 100k Race to the Stones ultra-run just after the end of term raising over £4,000 for the Felix Project. Simon’s children Alby and Louis were at the finish to cheer them over the line.

Albans, to teach Classics; Dr Paolo Torri from d’Overbroeck's to teach Classics and Italian; Andrew Rush from Magdalen College School to teach Design Technology; David Caro from Stoneyhurst to teach Spanish and French; Edward Scates from Kingham Hill and Chloe Riddle from Wycombe Abbey to teach English. Welcome, too, to Chantal Embers who joined the Registry Department in June. In internal changes from September, Yvette Ramadharsingh becomes HM of Avenue; Simon Palferman, HM of Cowell’s; and Fergus Livingstone, HM of our temporary House, Cooper Lodge. Anna Fielding becomes IB Coordinator (from October) and therefore steps down from her role as AHM of Corfe. Debra Clayphan becomes Head of Pupil Wellbeing alongside her existing role as Head of Learning Development. Anneli Ruehle becomes Assistant Head of Sixth Form. Matthew Fletcher and Flora Nelson become jointly responsible for Oxbridge, Academic Enrichment and School Lectures. In personal news, congratulations to Peter and Jenny Swainson on the birth of Matilda Elizabeth Dillwyn on 28th May; and to Alex and Stacey Waring on the birth of Noah Peter on 20th June.

Royal Tennis Hattie Harries-Jones was delighted to partner HRH the Earl of Wessex in a game of doubles at Radley in May as part of his nationwide tennis challenge to raise funds for the Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Earl intends to play on all 50 real tennis courts in the world in 2018, playing several hours of doubles on each occasion. Hattie was particularly pleased to be part of this initiative as she is currently working towards her Gold DofE.

Rachel Bellamy was called up to play for Middlesex Women when they played on the main ground at Lord’s for the first time ever on MCC Women’s Day in April. Rachel returned bowling figures of 3 for 12 with the side winning by 6 wickets.
