of the protein to sugar. This means it just becomes another source of empty calories that your body stores as fat. Colostrum, the highly nutritious substance that comes out of a mother’s breast for the first few weeks before the milk is produced, is said to be only 2 to 4 percent protein. At a time when humans are growing faster than at any other time in their lives, a time when they grow as much as 30 percent in a two-week period, they do so on a diet which consists of only 2 to 4 percent protein. We are able to do this because the protein is so highly assimilable. So what’s the solution to essential amino acid malnutrition? Eat more good, assimilable sources of protein: store. I recommend the unsweetened, unflavored variety, preferably from sheep’s or goat’s milk, and organic. Unfla- vored whey protein has a creamy consistency and can be added to anything sweet or savory without compromising the taste. Try adding it to yogurt, creamy salad dressings, muesli, cereal, pancake and French toast batter, and any type of cake mix or bread dough. It also makes great pro- tein shakes, fruit smoothies, and ice cream (see my website gabrielmethod/recipes.com for Super Delicious / Super Nutritious recipe suggestions). • Other good sources of protein include grass-fed organic meat , free-range chicken , and freshwater fish . Also ben- eficial are organic yogurts and white cheeses , especially from goat’s and sheep’s milk. Raw (not roasted) nuts and seeds can also be good sources of protein. • One of the most assimilable forms of protein is whey pro- tein . You can buy whey protein powder at your health food
