Your body will also start to burn fat more and more effi- ciently. A positive spiral develops because, the better your body gets at burning fat, the more energy you will have and the less food you’ll need. Whenever your body needs some energy, it can just tap into your fat reserves, rather than force you to get it from outside sources. As these things come together, you’ll be losing weight without even having to make an effort to be disciplined or “in control” of yourself. Your body will be working with you, as opposed to against you, in your weight-loss effort. In the final section of this book, we’ll talk about how to phase these suggestions into your life and make them into habits. Before you know it, they will become an automatic part of your daily life.
