Your Ideal Body

Technique: Whenever you’re physically active, you can visualize your ideal body. Usually at some point while biking, I will imagine that I am in my ideal shape. I imag- ine that I can see every stomach muscle, and that the veins and muscles in my arms are bulging. Use whatever image of your ideal self that works for you. Alternating between these two visualization techniques dur- ing the times when you are moving faster will help maximize the benefits of your exercise session. It will make your body think it needs to be thin in order to survive, and it will program your body to be in perfect shape. Nighttime Visualization to Rekindle the Joy of Movement All children love to play. At a certain age, we just love being physically active. But even if we lose that joy, the good news is that we can find it again. Technique: At night, before you go to sleep or whenever you’re in SMART Mode, do this: • Imagine you are in perfect shape and you already have your ideal body. • Imagine that you have no physical limitations. Being active is as effortless and as enjoyable as when you were a small child. • Choose a physical activity that really appeals to you; it can be anything at all. Maybe it’s something you’ve
