least to me, is that whatever path someone chooses, you’re able to use the method. The Gabriel Method actually treats a lot of the underlying causes . . . that cause people to be obese and cause people to overeat. Additionally, it’s filled with nutritional information and wisdom that helps people achieve optimal health. For me there were a lot of control issues. I think that the Gabriel Method really causes you to be in the place of being— being silent and hearing what your body’s telling you—per- haps for the first time in your life. When you diet, you subscribe to a lot of the things that the world has to offer, and you’re taking in all the sights and sounds and belief systems of others. But with the Gabriel Method, I learned to listen to my voice and my journey. I chose to have lap band surgery, but I also followed all of Jon’s advice. I believe it was Jon’s advice that enabled me to achieve truly phenomenal results. I lost over 178 pounds. I now weigh 156 pounds. Jon’s method is not a technique. He helps you get in touch with what your essential needs are as a human being—the things we’ve lost touch with. It’s about getting in touch with what’s truly right for you in your life and feeding yourself at every level of your being. His point—that most of us are starving and what we have to do is add what’s missing rather than take anything away—is truly revolutionary. How else do you explain an absolute miracle? His story is the most impressive, bar none. Very rarely do people lose so much weight. But then to maintain it and have no sagging skin is remark- able. His story is very compelling, but what’s more compelling is the way he’s going to go out into the world and completely trans- form it.
