our life experience. When you start to believe that you will look a certain way, you are tapping into the power of beliefs to make it happen. Even if, in the beginning, you may be visualizing without belief, eventually the belief will come, as will all the power you need to achieve it. The beauty of the practice is that, once you are already in SMART Mode, it really only takes a minute to create the image. Use the visualization techniques below so that the next time you’re picturing your ideal body and someone comes along to say, “Yeah, right, in your dreams,” you can reply: “Yes, in my dreams and coming soon to real life.” Making Visualization a Habit It’s important to make visualization a habit. When you do so, you’ll be well on the way to transforming your body from the inside out. Visualization becomes progressively easier over time. What may take you several minutes the first day may take only an effortless second or two by the end of the month. Once that happens, you have just acquired what is, in my opinion, possi- bly the most useful weight-loss asset you can have—the auto- matic, effortless habit of programming yourself to be thin. Basic Visualization You can practice this visualization any time, and I certainly encourage you to do so whenever you think about it. However, it is most effective when you are in SMART Mode, right before you go to sleep, or just as you are waking up. Simply visualize yourself looking exactly the way you would like to look. That is all you really need to do. However, if you want to make it even more powerful, imagine that you are at a pleasant, scenic location.
