Visualization for Weight Loss -The Gabriel Method

Part II: Nonphysical Stresses that Activate the FAT Programs

be someone else, but the important thing is to find an image that closely resembles the body you’d like to create. Don’t worry about any preconceptions you might have about whether or not it’s “realistic” for you to look that way. Just assume anything is possible, and find the right image. On the bottom of the picture, write the following statement (or something similar):

I use the power of my mind to create the body I desire.

Keep this picture in a handy place by your bed. Then before you go to sleep at night, do the following:

• Look at the picture for about thirty seconds. • While staring at the picture, say the statement that you wrote on the bottom of the picture. • Now close your eyes and imagine that you look exactly like the picture you were just staring at. You can to it for a few seconds or a few minutes, it’s up to you. • Expand that thought and imagine that you feel the way the image looks—whether it’s running freely and lightly, dancing with joy, or even feeling your body as you try on smaller-size clothes. Let that feeling permeate your entire being. • Play the CD and allow yourself to drift off to sleep while still listening to it. • The following morning , while you’re still lying in bed and before you get up, reach over to the picture, look at it for a few seconds, close your eyes, and visualize your ideal body once more. • Spend a moment visualizing your coming day. Imagine it going exactly the way that you would like it to go, from start to finish. Experts say that it takes twenty-one days to form a habit, so by doing this every day for a month, you will have formed a habit for life.
