What music groups, bands, drama and theater groups, or cultural groups (poets, sculptors, artists) exist and are well known within the community? 12. What kind of sports leagues exist for the community’s participation? 13. What kinds of activities and resources are available to the community in its various community centers (Boys or Girls clubs, Boys Scouts or Girl Scouts, YMCA, etc.)? X. What Are the Key Media Centers Based within the Community? 1. What are the key community voices of media present (newspapers, newsletters, radio stations, television stations, publishing centers, etc.)? Who owns these and what are their circulation and audience numbers? 2. Who are the key persons consulted by the media as spokespersons for the community? 3. What are the key organizations, individuals, or institutions within the community that give voice to its opinions, views, and positions? 4. How does the media depict the community – what issues, themes, stories, personalities does the media tend focus upon in its analysis of the community? 5. What kinds of community programming is made available for the community’s discretion on radio and television? 6. Who are the reporters or journalists assigned to deal with issues related to the needs and life of the community? 7. What neighborhood-based community newspapers or newsletters address the particular concerns of members of the community? Who owns them? How often are they published, and how great is their staffs?
