3. As the church plant progresses, more and more of the team becomes people won to Christ during the church planting process.

II. Leadership of the Team

A. The leader of the church plant team is appointed by the leadership of the sending church.

1. He or she is co-leader with World Impact’s staff member assigned to lead the team through the church planting process. Together they:

a. Lead the team in prayer, strategy formulation, execution of plans, and evaluation of progress

b. Train the team

c. Regularly inform sending church and World Impact of progress and needs

2. Specific responsibilities of team leader:

a. Facilitate meetings

b. Make sure that there is excellent communication among the team

c. Maintain excellent communication with leadership of sending church regarding progress and needs

d. Meet regularly with World Impact coach (separate from the team)

e. Provide pastoral care for team members

f. Maintain team unity

g. Provide leadership for the church that is planted (assume role as pastor) until replacement is trained
