KERRI NAKAMOTO Assistant Coach

Kerri Nakamoto enters her first season as an assistant basketball coach following her graduation from USD with a degree in Sociology. She will be the film exchange coordinator and will assist with recruiting, practice planning, scouting, and working with the guards and wing players .

Kerri is no stranger to the USD women's basketball program as she started in all 114 games in her four years as a Torero from 1999-2003. Kerri was the starting shooting guard on the 1999-2000 team that won the WCC Tournament and advanced to a first round NCAA tournament appearance.

While at USD, Kerri left her mark in the record books. She is the fifth all-time leading scorer, first in both single sea– son and career three-point baskets made, and second in career assists. The Toreros voted Kerri MVP two seasons and twice she received the Coaches Award. In addition, she was a two– time Honorable Mention WCC selection. Kerri's experience also includes coach– ing club basketball teams for the San JoseJammers . She also coached a 13U club basketball team and was an assis– tant coach for a high school club team in the San Diego Sol organization. Kerri, a native of San Jose, CA, gradu– ated from Archbishop Mitty High School in 1999. As the senior captain of the basketball team, she led her school to a perfect 31-0 season including a Divi– sion I state championship. Kerri is the daughter of Brian and Christine Nakamoto.

First-year assistant coach Kerri Nakamoto finished her USD playing career as the most accomplished three-point shooter in school history.
