ENTSOG Southern Corridor (SC) Gas Regional Investment Plan (GRIP) 2014-2023 / Main Report

7.3.3.2 Minimization of LNG

(occurrence: 2 week peak demand all over Europe)

It is visible that there is no dependence on LNG in the Region with the exception of Greece. The countries of the Region can, if needed, fulfil their demand from other supply sources. In these cases the main supply sources for Croatia are Russia and its national production, for Italy are Algeria and Libya. Greece reduces its depend- ence from LNG first thanks to the commissioning of TAP (from 53% to 42%) and then, when the East-Med pipeline is taken into account (in the 2023 FID+PCI case), to less than 20%.
