Finally, I want to finish off by saying that last month, we have had a ‘Call to Action’ exercise to provide scrutiny across all medical wards at Blackburn. This was to ensure that every patient had a clear management plan and were discharged in a safe and timely manner. This was so successful that we are going to hold another one imminently. You can read more about this on page four. We are hopeful that this exercise has put us in a good position to deal with the inevitable extra pressures that the long Easter weekend will bring. However, we all need to keep up the good work. I want to thank you in advance for all the effort I know you will be putting in over this period. Best wishes, Kevin Kevin McGee , Chief Executive Message fromthe Chief Executive
Hello and welcome to another edition of Our Trust, Your News. I want to start this edition with acknowledging that our financial performance as we reached year end has been fantastic. This is to the credit of each team and division, but also the excellent management and diligence of the Finance team.Well done and thank you everyone. This newsletter brings you news of our successes like our Bereavement Care Nurse, Erin Bolton, winning the BJN Nurse of the Year award.Well done Erin! You will also be able to read about new developments within the Trust, such as the new Chemotherapy Unit at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, on page three. There are some exceptional milestones this month. As well as our Rakehead Rehabilitation Unit reaching its 30th Birthday, we say goodbye to a number of special members of staff who have retired after clocking up nearly 200 years of service between them! What a fantastic achievement - they will be sorely missed by their colleagues and the Trust as a whole.
