The Madison Police Department’s Special Response Team responded to the scene as part of a mutual aid request. The shooter opened fire a second time at about 9:30 a.m. and Officer Tyler was mortally wounded. The shooter was also killed in the exchange of gunfire. Officer Tyler had served with the Madison Police Department for seven years and was the supervisor of the narcotics division. He had previously retired as the police chief of Ridgeland Police Department after serving 27 years. He was a graduate of the 228th Session of the FBI National Academy. Please remember and pray for those who have lost a loved one this past year, be it family or friend. We ask God for His help knowing that we are not alone and that He will hear our prayers and heal our sorrow and sadness. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3-16 (KJV) We are blessed with the opportunity to serve our member ship through our Spiritual Leadership Network Chaplains and I en courage our membership to call on them for support and prayer. As we continue to grow and expand our outreach services, please let us know if there is someone in your chapter that is interested in serving as a chapter chaplain. You can contact us by email or through the Spiritual Leadership Network application link below. https://fbinaa.formstack.com/forms/fbinaa_cea .
