Assistant Coach 1st Year Offensive Line Todd Washington, who will be the offensive line coach, joins the Torero staff after an 8-year playing career in the NFL. Washington, a 4th round pick by Tampa Bay in 1998, played five seasons with the Buccaneers (1998-2003), including the 2002 Super Bowl XXXVII Championship team. He closed out his career with the Houston Texans (2003-2005). Played four years at Virginia Tech University (1994-97) where he earned All-Big East 1st team honors in 1997 and appeared in the Senior Bowl (1998). Washington earned his B.S. degree in Physical Education and Health in 1998. He was a coaching intern (August, 2006) for East Texas Baptist University and for the Amsterdam Admirals (February, 2006) at their NFL Europe Training Camp. Todd and his wife Shannon have one daughter, Ava, and a son, Zane. SUM Assistant Coach 1st Year Defensive Line Jon Sumrall, who will be the defensive line coach, was with Caragher the past two seasons at the University of Kentucky. He was a defensive graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, aiding the UK defensive staff and helping them this past season to an 8-5 record and Music City Bowl win over Clemson. Addition– ally he had lead responsibility in breaking down opponent film, organizing scouting reports, handling "self scout" of UK tendencies, and running the offensive scout team. Sumrall was a three-year letterman for the Wildcats from 2002-04. His best season for UK was in 2004 when he led the team in tackles with 72 from his line– backer position. He completed his B.A. degree in finance and is currently working on a master's degree in sports leadership. todd Assistant Coach 1st Year Defensive Assistant Todd Rusinkovich enters his first season with the Torero football staff as a defensive assistant. Rusinkovich is a recent graduate of Cornell University where he was a letterman on the Big Red Ivy League football team. He played defensive line, fullback, and tight end during his four years at Cornell and received the Fresh– man Scholar Athlete Award, was elected to the Cornell Football Players' Council and served as a position leader. Todd had a season ending knee injury during his sophomore year. Prior to Cornell, Todd attended San Clemente High School in San Clemente, California where he was an All South Coast League player at linebacker and led his team to the CIF semifinals. Todd captained the squad and was named the team's MVP. Rusinkovich was also the captain for his basketball and baseball teams while at SCHS and was named Athlete of the Year and Student of the Year as a senior. Todd is currently enrolled in the USD Graduate School of Leadership and Educational Sciences. jon

Assistant Coach 1st Year Wide Recievers Steve Mooshagian begins his first year as the program's wide receivers coach. Mooshagian comes to USD with an extensive coaching background, includ– ing four years as the head coach at Sacramento State (2003-2006). In his four years at Sacramento State, Mooshagian coached five Division I-AA All-Americans, three Division I-AA Freshmen All-Americans and 48 players who earned all-Big Sky Conference honors. During his last season the team's 4-4 Big Sky conference record was the 2nd best record in the school's 11-year Division I history. In his four seasons he played a direct role in the development of All-America wide receiver Fred Amey who played for the San Francisco 49ers in 2005. Mooshagian coached the receivers in his first two seasons, including 2004 when Amey caught a school-record 72 passes and was named first team all-Big Sky for the third straight year. A native Californian, Mooshagian has coached at the high school, junior college, college and professional levels. Prior to his post at Sacramento State, he served as the wide receivers coach with the Cincinnati Bengals from 1999-2002. In 2002, he guided the only receiving corps in the NFL to have four players with atleast 40 catches. With the Bengals, he coached some of the best young receivers in the league, including all-pro Chad Johnson, Peter Warrick, Darnay Scott, Carl Pickens, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh. Prior to workingwith theBengals,Mooshagian was the offensive coordina– tor at the University of Pittsburg for two years (1997-98), and offensive coordinator at Nevada in 1996. That year the Wolf Pack led the nation in total offense with an average of 527.3 yards of total offense and posted a 9-3 overall record while win– ning the Big West title and Las Vegas Bowl. He also had coaching stops at Fresno City College (head coach, 1995), Fresno State (1985-1994) and Washington Union HS (1983-84). Mooshagian graduated from Fresno Statewith adegree in physical education (1982) and later added his master's degree in 1984 from Columbia Pacific University. He played two years for the Bulldogs (1980-81) as a wide receiver, and following graduation signed as a free-agent wide receiver with the Los Angeles Express of the USFL (1983). He and his wife, Rene, have three grown children - daughters Janaye and Danielle, and a son, Bobby.

Assistant Coach 1st Year

Tight Ends/ Football Operations Director Mike Babcock, who will be the tight ends coach and football operations director, comes to USD from the University of Colorado. The past two seasons he was the offensive quality control intern after joining the program in June 200~. Prior to CU he was at UCLA, his alma mater, for five seasons as a member of the coaching staff. He spent three years (2002-04) as a graduate assistant coach after working the two previous years as an undergraduate assistant coach with both the offense and the defense. He played three seasons as an inside linebacker at UCLA, and was a member of the Bruins' 1997 and 1998 Pacific-10 Conference championship teams, which played in the Cotton and Rose bowls, respectively. He earned his B.A. degree in Sociology from UCLA in 2002, , and his M.A. in Education in 2004. Mike and his wife, Kimberly, were recently married rhis past summer.
