Hurled a complete-game vs. USF (5-1-05), surrendering one run and five hits in the series' finale to help USD keep pace in the wee Coast Divisional race... finished the season strong, shutting out LMU (5-15-05) in a relief role (senior day), matching a season-high with nine innings pitched, allowing four hits and striking out four. HIGH SCHOOL: Outstanding prep baseball player at Del Campo High School ... posted a 1.06 ERA and struckout 104 batters during his senior season ... three-time First Team All-Capital Athletic League player. .. Capital Athletic League MVP as a senior, leading the Cougars to a 15-3 league record and a 24-7 overall mark... garnered second team all-state honors and was also a first team all-city pick in '04... took the Cougars to the Sectional Finals as a junior in 2003 ... named the Capital Athletic League Pitcher of the Year... fanned 75 and owned an ERA of 1.09 as ajunior... excelled as an underclass– man at Del Campo,striking out 60 while keeping his ERA under 2.00... second team all-city pick as a sophomore... Picked up both a win and a save against Texas allowing one run on five hits in 6.2 innings of work en route to being named WCC Pitcher of the Week... recorded a career-high nine strikeouts in awin against Virginia Commonwealth (2/17/07) ... recorded five or more strikeouts on eight occasions... had his longest outing against San Francisco allowing one run on six hits, while striking out five in 7.0 innings of work. SOPHOMORE (2006): Posted career-bests in wins with seven and strike– outs with 71 ...posted a 4.00 ERA...made 21 appearances with 13 starts and picked up three saves...had a season-high 11 strikeouts against Portland (4/9/06)...picked up a win against Kansas allowing two runs on five hits in 5.1 innings of work...solidified himself as the Sunday starter at the start of conference play and posted a 3-3 record with a team-best ERA of 3.33... earned an AII-WCC honorable mention. FRESHMAN (2005): Solidified San Diego's weekend rotation, assuming the role as the Toreros' Sunday starter in late March ... went 5-1 with a 2.51 ERA in seven WCC starts to earn AII-WCC Second Team honors at season's end... named the WCC Pitcher of the Week (5/2) afterthrowing his first com– plete-game of his career to help USD win the decisive game of a weekend series with San Francisco (5-1-05)... allowed just 13 walks in 81 + innings... led all Torero pitchers within conference play in wins (5), ERA (2.39) and opponent's batting average (.244) ... began the season as a spot starter and long reliever... made nine appearances and three non-conference starts in January, February and March ... Moved into the weekend rotation after a season-ending injury to USD star Nate Boman in late March... im– mediately won his first collegiate game, throwing six complete innings of five-hit baseball against St. Mary's (3-25-05) on the home field of Diablo College... won again two weeks later at Santa Clara (4-17-05), pitching into the seventh inning to allow USD a three-game series sweep over the Broncos... struck out a season-high four batters four different times...
