REGISTRY OF DEEDS PREPARATION OF MEMORIALS OF DEEDS FOR REGISTRATION. THE Registrar of Deeds wishes to draw the attention of members of the Legal Profession to the fact that much of the coloured ink now being used in en grossing Memorials of Deeds for Registration is liable to fade on Parchment and the Memorials may become almost illegible in a relatively short time. It would greatly facilitate the work of the Registry of Deeds if Memorials were clearly and legibly written in good black ink. The " setting out," i.e., the particulars of the Execution of the Deed by the various parties and the names and additions of the Witnesses should be carefully and legibly engrossed in the Memorial before being presented at the Registry Office. When the Memorial is signed before the " setting out" is written, care should be taken to leave sufficient space between the body of the Memorial and the signature to allow the " setting out" to be clearly written. The Registrar would appreciate attention to the above suggestions, as illegible handwriting, fading ink and carelessness in preparing Memorials is causing increasing trouble and delay in the work of the Registry, and will in the future cause difficulty to the Legal Profession when reference to the original Memorials may be necessary.
