Choice Care Group

And this is Sammy’s story Support worker to service manager in three years Sammy joined Choice Care Group in 2015 as a support worker in one of their newer homes, in Addlestone, Surrey. Sammy had joined Choice after leaving university and needed to find a job. At the time, she saw it as a temporary option until she decided what she wanted to do. However, much to her own surprise, Sammy found that she loved the job and found it really rewarding. She said, “Your job is to literally support someone to live a full and happy life and that makes all your hard work completely worth it. “Also, every day is totally different. One day I am in meetings and doing paperwork, the next day I am at Chessington World of Adventures.” Quite quickly Sammy was promoted to shift leader, then senior, then assistant manager. She is now service manager in Guildford, overseeing two supported living services. She would definitely recommend giving a career in care a go and says, with a bit of dedication and hard work, anyone can achieve what she has done.
