Newsletter No. 2 - 2014/15 - Top Division Clubs in Europe

LEADING THE WAY FOR FOOTBALL CLUBS IN EUROPE | No. 2 - 2014/15

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// NEWSLETTER /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// FOR TOP DIVISION CLUBS IN EUROPE /////

FOREWORD /////////////////////////////////////////// At the end of March, the 14th ECA General Assembly, held in Stockholm, represented a turning point in the life of our young organisation, with the announcement of two landmark collaboration agreements with FIFA and UEFA. 143 Member Clubs were present in the Swedish capital to witness the announcement of these agreements that will certainly shape the next years of European football. Each deal not only guarantees financial benefits to European Clubs, but also ensures a direct representation for clubs in the governance models of both organisations, as you can read in detail in this newsletter. The last months have also seen several decisions being taken at UEFA and FIFA level. Michel Platini was re-elected President of UEFA for the next four years during the last UEFA Congress, while November/December was confirmed as the selected period for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, following a final meeting of the FIFA Task Force on Qatar 2022. As for the action on the pitch, we are now in the final exiting stages of the 2014/15 campaign, with the first national champions already being crowned, and only four clubs left in the race to respectively win the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. I wish you an enjoyable read and wish you all the best for the remaining games of the season.
