Older dishwashers, and even some newer models, use a 3/8" female pipe thread inlet. This requires use of a 3/8" MIP x 3/8" OD Compression Elbow. It also requires the use of pipe thread tape to seal the pipe inlet. Older Inlet Valve Connections

Dishwasher manufacturers have moved to a 3/4" male hose thread inlet for the water valve. this requires use of a high quality Hose x Comp Elbow. New Inlet Valve Connections
