While simulation training is the center of the COACHES Program, the team’s dialogue with community providers doesn’t end with the onsite visit. The team offers feedback about real patients who are transferred to Children’s and assists hospitals in developing policies and acquiring pediatric supplies. “Our goal is to better equip hospitals with the training and tools necessary to ensure quality care of children, and that is a win-win for all parties involved, most importantly the children of Alabama,” Rutledge said.
