Ed Kendall, category project manager for BSS Industrial, commented, “The BOSS 965NREXT ball valve is particularly suited to chilled water applications, with the non-rotating extended stem enabling insulation and vapour barriers to remain intact when operating the valve. “The bronze valve body and stem eliminates any chance of SCC which other materials may be susceptible to. The new valve is an excellent addition to the BOSS valve range, addressing issues that installers and end users may face.”

With an extended non-rotating stem and complete bronze body construction, the new valve is not only unaffected by stress corrosion cracking (SCC) but can also assist the problem of operating the valve when the pipe run has been insulated. The BOSS 965NREXT bronze ball valve is suited to chilled water applications and is the first BOSS ball valve to offer an extended non-rotating stem. The longer stem makes the valve suitable for insulated pipe runs as it positions the control level above the insulation. Having the lever situated above the insulation in this way means that it can be operated freely without disturbing the vapour seal.
