WHAT WILL I STUDY?

YEAR 1

In the first year business concepts are explored in spa organisations and how they can achieve profitability. The ageing process is studied to develop an understanding of the basic anatomy and physiology of the body systems and how these relate to the ageing process. The history of the spa is explored and how it evolved into the major international industry that it is today. You will look at diverse massage treatments within the spa industry. Your work is practically focussed with health and safety forming part of it, including first aid training. Through work on case studies your knowledge of the industry will begin to develop.
