ST HELENS

Rich in history, steeped in character.

Located midway between Liverpool and Manchester, St Helens is an excellent base offering the opportunity to explore the whole of the Northwest and beyond. Sports enthusiasts can experience the excitement of premier year-round horse racing at Haydock Park Racecourse or enjoy action-packed rugby at the home of the most successful side in Super League history, Saints. Discover the borough’s unique heritage at the multi-award winning attraction The World of Glass, or visit the fascinating North West Museum of Road Transport with its extensive collection of vintage road vehicles. Dream, a 20-metre-high sculpture visible from the M62 motorway, draws visitors to the site of the former Sutton Manor colliery. Those looking for a more cultural experience can take in a performance at the Theatre Royal or visit the Citadel Arts Centre, voted by the Independent as one of the UK’s top 10 jazz and blues venues. In St Helens town centre, special events take place throughout the year. The town centre benefits from a range of high street stores and independent shops, restaurants, pubs and bars.
