The BA (Hons) Game Art degree course has been developed and designed by game art experts. It will provide you with specialist training to become a professional 3D games artist, along with theoretical and core skills equipping you to fit into a modern creative games studio. It is the ideal degree course for creative individuals who want an arts orientated career, which utilises computer game processes. The degree is underpinned by embedding game art appropriate industry skills and knowledge to implement a sound foundation in the use of tools, technologies and processes integral for contemporary games titles. Traditional skills, preproduction design skills and other forms of visualisation techniques will be instilled. The degree aims to replicate the working conditions of industry level games studios. You will be trained in using 3D Studio Max, Unreal Level Editor, Mudbox, PhotoShop and other relevant software. Your academic communications skills will also be developed through research, intellectual enquiry and investigation into contemporary game theory and cultural context.

You will need to present appropriate evidence in the form of a physical or digital portfolio. This could include coursework (from brief to final product), independent art/design work, 3D models, level builds (screenshots) and any level design (plans for games and game design documents) and any other creative process that could be diverse from the games industry.
