OVERVIEW

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 80 UCAS Tariff points

The modern world is full of imagery and taking photographs has become part of everyday life. However, understanding how to interpret these images and creating them as an extended body of work are key for a successful career within the photography industry. The BA (Hons) Photography degree at University Centre St Helens will develop your passion for photography and provide you with a good balance of theory and practice. It covers a whole host of specialist disciplines within the field of photographic image making, using both analogue and digital processes and a hybrid approach to using both. The degree has been designed to develop your technical photographic knowledge and critical understanding needed to become a successful photographer. Students have the opportunity to exhibit their work at end of year exhibitions across Liverpool and the surrounding area. You also will have the opportunity to compete in competitions such as the D&AD awards and the Association of Photographers (AOP) Student Awards 2018.

We are seeking highly motivated applicants who have a genuine passion for photography. We are looking for visually aware individuality. All suitably qualified applicants will be invited to attend an informal interview, providing you with the opportunity to see if the course is suitable for your needs. It will also offer the course team the opportunity to discuss and explore your career interests. Please see pages 128 – 129 for full details of our admissions requirements and how to apply.
