HOWWILL I STUDY?

WHOWILL BE TEACHINGME?

Teaching takes place in a purpose-built environment with excellent facilities including purpose built photography studios and colour and monochrome dark rooms, which will enable you to evolve your own unique style and personal visual language. Learning will be theoretical and practical through lectures, workshops, seminars, group critiques, self-directed learning, peer group learning, written work, oral presentation, library and gallery study, presentations, group work, visits and guest lectures. The Creative Arts department is friendly and approachable and of a size that enables us to know our students personally and be able to respond to their needs. Assessments are varied and designed to ensure you acquire a range of skills, particularly those required by industry. You will engage in group critiques, seminar presentations, essays and one-to-one tutorial support sessions, which will offer verbal feedback via an on-going basis throughout the academic year. A final year show in the third year will allow you to display your work to a wider audience, including influential industry advocates. HOWWILL I BE ASSESSED?

A highly experienced, passionate and enthusiastic lecturing team with a wide range of interests reflecting all areas of photographic practice will work with you. Outside of their academic commitments, teaching staff are also active in their own research. In addition, staff have a substantial amount of industry experience working for publications such as ID Magazine, FACE Magazine and SAAB Magazine, with work published both nationally and internationally. Students who successfully complete the BA (Hons) Photography degree will have achieved a comprehensive, broad based qualification that will seriously enhance your career and employability prospects within the industry. Our graduates have gone on to work in fields ranging from editorial and fashion to movie stills and medical photography. Additionally, this degree prepares students for further level study in a similar field to photography at postgraduate level or training to become a teacher. CAREERS AND PROGRESSION
