Developing a Diverse Economy In Southern and Southwest Virginia

The Tobacco Commission provides economic development grants and loans to localities in Southern and Southwest Virginia with a goal of developing a diverse economy in those regions. The Commission is a metrics driven organization that makes use of modern data analytics to ensure consistent, effective project management and strong return on investment. Since 1999 the Commission has helped create thousands of jobs and billions of dollars of investment in Southern and Southwest Virginia and through strategic investments of our own the Commission has positioned the areas we serve to attract the jobs of the future.
