Scroll as necessary to view the Gantt bar for the 4 Draft Proposal task. Point to the bar to see that the task is scheduled to finish on 6/30/18.

Steps

Practice Data

1. Double-click the task for which you want to set a deadline date. The Task Information dialog box opens.

Double-click the 4 Draft Proposal task.

2. Select the Advanced tab.

Click the

tab.

The Advanced page appears.

3. Under Constrain task select the text in the Deadline field. The text in the Deadline field is selected.

Drag to select the text in the Deadline field.

4. Type the deadline date.

Type 6/28/18.

The date appears in the Deadline field.

5. Select OK .

Click

The Task Information dialog box closes, a deadline symbol appears next to or on the corresponding Gantt bar and the deadline date is set.

Point to the Gantt bar for the Draft Proposal task again and notice that the start and finish dates did not change. Notice the deadline symbol to the right of the taskbar. Point to the symbol to view the ScreenTip.

Change the duration of the 3 Develop Blueprints task to 3 weeks. Scroll as necessary and notice the indicator that appears in the Indicator column for the Draft Proposal task. Point to the indicator and view the information in the ScreenTip to see that the task is set to finish later than its deadline date.

Return the duration of the Develop Blueprints task to 2 weeks and notice that the indicator disappears.
