Use the Timeline view create a high level view of your project plan that you can then share through other Office applications such as PowerPoint and Outlook.

The Timeline provides a way to look at the various tasks that are a part of your project. You can see if you need to correct task overlap, either because of timing or staffing reasons. Format the tasks and incorporate the timeline into a project status report or format the Timeline to make it more appealing.

 Procedures for Activating the Timeline

1. Select the View tab. 2. In the Split View group, select the Timeline checkbox.

 Procedures for adding tasks to the timeline

1. On the View tab in the Split View group, select the Timeline checkbox if necessary 2. In the Gantt Chart view, click inside the highlighted timeline. 3. Under Timeline Tools click the Format tab. 4. To add several tasks to the timeline at once, in the Insert group from click Existing Tasks . 5. Select one or more tasks you want to add to the timeline. 6. Click OK .
