3. On the Task tab in the Insert group, click New Task .

4. Type the new task name. 5. Select the Duration field. 6. Type the desired duration. 7. Press [Enter] .

Scroll to view the 11 Build Foundation task.

1. Select the task above which you want to insert the new task. The task is selected. 2. On the Task tab in the Insert group, click New Task icon. A blank row appears above the selected task.

Click 12 Pour Foundation .

Click

3. Type the new task name. The new task name.

Type Dig Foundation.

4. Select the Duration field.

Press [Tab].

The Duration field is selected.

5. Type the duration.

Type 1w.

The duration appears.

6. Press [Enter] .

Press [Enter].

The new task appears in the task list and on the Gantt chart, either linked by a Finish-to-Start relationship or not linked.

Practice the Concept: Select the 11 Build Foundation task and press the [Insert] key to insert a new row. Create a new task named Build Structure . Then indent the 12 Build Foundation through 18 Build Deck tasks to change the Build Structure task to a summary task.
