AAA MEMBER NEWS "Champion of the World was estab- lished to promote awareness, goodwill and trade between and within cattle-producing countries across the world", says PJ Budler, founder of wagyubreeder.net and the Champion of the World competition. This cattle competition is broken down by regions – North America, South Amer- ica, Asia/Africa and Europe – and then by countries. At this year’s competition, there were more than 1,000 entries from 77 coun- tries representing 16 breeds, as well as one judge from each region. The Wagyu divi- sion consists of the five Japanese breeds: Akaushi, Japanese Black, Japanese Polled, Japanese Shorthorn and Mishima. To be nominated, your cattle must have won a national show within your country, or be nominated by your breed association or by a breeder. The American Akasuhi Association is proud to announce that two Akaushi mem- bers – HeartBrand ® Beef and Legendary

Akaushi Genetics – had registered cattle competing in this year’s competition. HeartBrand Shannon V7297U and SOR Mr Hiromitsu were nominated to compete in the Miss World and Champion of the World competitions in the Wagyu division. Both won the North American division and went on to compete against the other three regions. At the 2019 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, HeartBrand Beef and Legendary Akasuhi Genetics were honored to accept the title of Miss World and Champion of the World! Congratulations to both on a well-de- served title. PT
