Matriculating students majoring in Biology, Chemistry, or Forensic Science or whomay take MAT 1815 (Calculus I) to complete admission requirements to professional schools and who meet the threshold for MAT 1213 are encouraged to discuss with their advisor and the Mathematics Department to determine whether they should attempt to place into MAT 1514 (Precalculus). These students may be asked to complete the ACCUPLACER College Level Mathematics exam or other assessment instruments designated by the Mathematics Department to demonstrate they have the necessary background to succeed in MAT1514. Matriculating students wishing to major in mathematics will have their academic records reviewed by the Mathematics Department to determine the appropriate starting point within the Mathematics Program. These students may be asked to complete the ACCUPLACER College Level Mathematics exam and/or other assessment instruments designated by the Mathematics Department for determining their appropriate starting point within the Mathematics program.
