Manufacturer of copper electrical build- ing wire and cable, Cerro Wire LLC, offers SLiPWire ® , a thermoplastic high heat-resistant nylon-coated (THHN) cable jacketed with a self-lubricating polymer that provides an improved, lower co-efficient of friction. SLiPWire reduces the time, labor and cost of installation, eliminates the materials and labor needed for lubricating the wire, and avoids messy clean-up activities. SLiPWire also uses Cerro Wire’s True Sequential Footage™ technology, the only sequentially printed cable reel that provides accurate wire length with each cut. True Sequential Footage avoids the need to carry excess cable inventory, providing precision length, accurate footage, and cost control. It also uses Cerro Wire’s Max Print ® identification system to quickly identify the size of the cable, aiding selection, inspection and preventing costly errors. THHN cable reduces costs

Deacero takes in Mid Continent

Mid Continent Steel and Wire Inc of Poplar Bluff will expand production and add 100 jobs, the new owners from Mexico announced. “We have a short-term objective of increasing the production capacity to 100,000 tons per year,” said Raul Guiterrez, one of the three brothers who own Deacero, based in Monter- rey, Mexico. “This will be 40 % more than our present capacity.” Deacero purchased the plant from David and Doug Libla, who started the firm in 1987.

“David will continue to run the company because we share the same vision,” Guiterrez said. “The company will remain the same with the same organization.” As new products are added and production grows, Guiterrez expects “at least a 20 to 30 percent increase in employment” over a period of time. The plant already has more than 300 employees.
