Bell Fiber Québec arrives in City

Following an investment of over $225 million in broadband network technology, Bell has announced the launch of its Bell Fibe service in Québec City. Bell has brought high-speed fiber optic technology directly to homes and business across the capital in what is the largest “fiber to the home” network rollout of its kind in Canada, supporting enhanced competition and choice in Québec with the latest broadband TV, internet and home phone services. “The people of Québec City now have access to the most advanced network technology available in Québec or anywhere in Canada,” said Martine Turcotte, Bell’s vice-chair, Québec. “Bell is committed to leading investment and innovation in new broadband services, bringing the best technology the world has to offer here to our Québec home. With Fibe, Bell is proud to deliver to our capital city the fastest Internet speeds, the best television experience and free long distance calling to any number in Québec.” Bell Fibe Internet offers download speeds of up to 175 Mbps and upload speeds up to 30 Mbps.

S&E Specialty Polymers is a custom compound supplier to the wire and cable industry, supplying custom formulas in flame retardant polyolefin, high flame retardant low smoke PVC Plenum, zero halogen high flame retardant plastic compounds as well as many other plastic applications.

The company has recently expanded its international sales reach by signing distribution agreements with Millan & Associates, LLC for Latin and South America, and with Mihama Corporation for Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. In addition, S&E has announced some personnel changes. Duane Shooltz has been promoted to president of S&E. As chief operating officer of the company since 2008, he has led the company’s growth and development strategy. He has over 30 years of experience with both public and private manufacturing companies and has held senior management positions in sales, purchasing and manufacturing. Yan Chen will work for S&E in the newly created position of product development manager. She most recently worked as a senior project chemist with Schneller LLC, where she led several teams to develop composites, laminates and resin formulations for commercial aircraft applications. Prior to that, she held management and scientist/ supervisory positions with A Schulman and Honeywell International. Chen holds numerous patents related to materials and processing and is Six Sigma Greenbelt certified.
