New Asia Pacific MD Cable&Wireless Worldwide has appointed Darren Webb as the company’s managing director for Asia Pacific to oversee the expansion of its business in the region.

Webb has been with the company for over a decade. In his new role, he will have overall responsibility for enterprise and carrier sales, service delivery, marketing, finance and people functions. He has relocated from the UK to C&W Worldwide’s Singapore office, retaining his current responsibilities as the director of global enterprise sales. Webb has already demonstrated his ability to drive growth for the business in his previous assignments at C&WWorldwide. “Darren’s promotion to this strategic management role is richly deserved. In his 16 years at the company, he has excelled in every role he has undertaken and has consistently delivered results for our customers and the business. The company’s business prospects in Asia Pacific are growing and with Darren at the helm, I am confident that we will be able to expand our footprint in the region and do even better in servicing our customers,” said Nick Lambert, managing director – wholesale, mid-market and global markets.

Up onthe roof Nautilus Solar Energy has begun engineering and construction of a 1.9MW roof mounted, solar photovoltaic project in California.

The project will start commercial operation in May this year. Power generated from the project will be sold to Southern California Edison under a 20 year power purchase agreement. Nautilus Solar Energy CEO James Rice said California is the largest solar market in the US and the company is excited to expand its portfolio in the very important market with the addition of the project at 15710 San Antonio Avenue in Chino. “Our goal is to continue to grow our footprint in California by developing and acquiring high quality projects to help the state meet its renewable portfolio standard,” said Rice. Nautilus Solar develops, constructs, finances, owns and operates distributed generation and utility-scale solar electric systems across the US.
