The filter provides 0.7dB passband insertion loss, 1.1:1 passband VSWR from 700 to 2000MHz, 1.7:1 passband VSWR from 2000 to 5000MHz, stopband rejection of 35dB from DC to 300MHz and 30dB from 300 to 450MHz. 1.4:1 typical stopband VSWR results in minimal stopband signal reflections, eliminating spurs and improving system dynamic range. It also provides excellent power handling of up to +32dBm in the passband and +35dBm in the stopband. Fabricated using IPD process technology on GaAs, the filter comes housed in a tiny 5x5mm QFN package. Mini-Circuits’ X-series of reflectionless filters employs a novel filter topology which absorbs and terminates stopband signals internally rather than reflecting them back to the source. This new capability enables unique applications for filter circuits beyond those suited to traditional approaches. This design provides very sharp rejection with 78% slope from the 3dB cutoff to 20dB rejection, and greater than 40dB rejection from 135 to 850 MHz. It provides 1.5dB typical insertion loss in the passband and handles RF input power up to 0.15W. The unit gives designers the advantages of excellent selectivity and high stopband rejection in a miniature form factor occupying only 0.25x0.25” of board space.
