SEPTEMBER 2016 BEACON

I would like to shout out a big THANK YOU to all the OD’s, Weekday managers, Ancient Mariners, First Mates, Members, junior members, and Board of Directors for their time, talents, and efforts throughout this boating season. A special thanks to our 2016 Fleet Captains, Glenn, and Sheila Nixon. They have built a reputation of successes by delivering a great time and great food one rendezvous after another. A big thank you to all of those stepping up to help them, many hands make lite work which provided success for everyone’s enjoyment. I vote for four more years. Looking forward to the remainder of September, we still have loads of fun with Watson’s afternoon bash, Smoke on the Water, Pot luck Thanksgiving in October, Haul Out General Membership Meeting, the Motown meets Greektown Haul Out party, First Mates Haul Out breakfast, and the election results and ensuing celebrations. Then the work party process hits in October to close the year. Please put a save the date on your calendars for these events. Please don’t forget our fallen military and citizens in the 9/11 disaster as well your continued prayers to heal the scar it left on our great country. Take a moment to remember those that lost their lives or had their lives forever changed, and give thanks to our first responders and military whom keep us safe every day.
